The summer is nearly over. The kids are going back to school and vacations are ending. We couldn't think of a better time to update you on the current real estate market conditions here in the Tahoe/Truckee area and also let you know about our new search tool. First, let's talk about what's going on in real estate:

Since the beginning of 2014, we have had 1,744 homes come on the market compared to 1,794 at this time last year
We've had a 21% drop in home sales this year compared to last
The average sales price so far in 2014 is up 17% over last years.
Fall is approaching and it is one of the best times to buy or sell a home here in Tahoe because buyers want to get into those homes before the winter.

We would also like to introduce you to an exciting new search tool we have launched on our website. Now you can search based on not only the number of beds and bathrooms, but you can search for much more specific criteria, such as a big backyard or an open floor plan.
